Something I wish I had learned earlier.
DISCLAIMER. I AM NOT A TRAINER. I'M NOT EVEN GOOD AT SHOOTING. I'M STATISTICALLY MID AT BEST. HIGH C-LOW B CLASS SHOOTER.
I see people talking about finding their dot a lot. You shouldn't be finding your dot. You should look at target, point gun at target, and the dot should just... be there.
How do you make it be there? Build a consistent mount for your gun.
How do you make a consistent mount? This drill in the video.
-Start with the dot on the target. Slowly bring the gun down to the ready.
-Bring the gun back up. Focusing on perfectly reversing the path you took down.
-If the dot is there, great, repeat. If the dot is not there, center it on the target, and repeat until it starts being there.
Do this a bajillion times. I'm not kidding. Do it a lot.
Once you are 100% getting the dot on target every single time, then work your way back to the holster. then do it a bajillion more times.
You are training your body to mount the gun in a way that aligns your dot with the target. For some people, it comes quickly. Others have to do it a long time.
I made this video so you can see what it looks like from your pov.
Sorry for the janky cut. Idk how to video things good.
